Deetlefs Wine Laboratory together with Distell Bergkelder has been rated the TOP Laboratory of the Year for 2007 by the South African Wine Laboratory Association (SAWLA).
The aim of the SAWLA is to improve the quality of wine laboratories in South Africa, as well as the standardisation of methodology in these labs.
SAWLA administers a monthly proficiency wine analysis round in a groundbreaking open source web-based inter-laboratory LIMS. Participating laboratories (50) receive similar samples from a central distribution point and then have a week to analyse and submit their results on-line.
Deetlefs Wine Laboratory has been under the top 10 laboratories for the past three years, highlighting the consistency of analysis and service levels.
Deetlefs Wine Laboratory is an independent wine laboratory, which is responsible for the Quality Management Program for the Deetlefs Group. A variety of services are performed on a continuous basis for producers, agents and buyers by the highly qualified team. Services include but are not limited to: wine analysis as well as supply and standardisation of reagents.
In the continuous strive for excellence, there is a commitment from the multi-disciplinary team to create, develop and manage the Quality Management Program. The program meets with local and international standards as well as our customer requirements. The Deetlefs Group is BRC and HACCP accredited.
